We have have now finished the latest update for Palringo which address a number problems present in the previous release. Although there are no new features to get excited about, this is a major jump in stability. Hopefully not long until location makes the transition to the Java platform.

Change log:

  • Fixed logging-in issues. (app would occasionally crash)
  • Fixed bridge registering issues. (losing connection after trying to create a bridge)
  • Fixed history problems (would return history just once in the lifetime of the application)
  • Improved image/audio capture across devices. (e.g. “Record Error Failed to realize”)
  • Losing inbound connection but not outbound. This was not a connection error but a code error. This caused a lot of issues but some that were reported were messages getting stuck on “Sending” but never sent (they did get sent, just no response was ever received)
  • Not being able to clear text you entered if your phone doesn’t have a hard clear key (e.g. Nokia 40).
  • Reconnects are handled better.

Get it now by pointing your devices web browser at palringo.mobi.
NOTE: This site needs to be able to detect your device make/model – some 3rd party browsers (e.g. Opera) don’t support this so I recommend using the built in one.
