Symbian 0.97.16 Released
As the title suggests we have a new Symbian release.
In addition to the UI overhaul we previously blogged about, Palringo Local functionality has now been introduced in the Symbian build.
We’ve also simplified chat window switching, bringing the interface more in-line Palringo on other platforms, and making the whole process of managing multiple conversations more intuitive.
Please bear in mind that if you have the old version installed then you need to uninstall it first. This is due to the fact that we have started signing our application and as a result the old version will not be upgraded since it wasn’t signed. Try it and please leave your feedback.

Everything is great except… No home screen notifications on my E71 whatsoever. I’d like to know when I get a new message when my phone is silent, which brings me to the other point.
It seems like the notifications are not tied to the phone profiles, so no matter what profile I choose, I will hear the sound every time I get an IM. My workaround is to keep the notification to silent, but now I never know when I get an IM unless I explicitly check.
