Palringo Local is magic. It guestimates your location by analysing visible WiFi APs, Cell Sites, GPS Satellites, Network Routers, and anything else it can get it’s antennas on. You are then free to share your location with your contacts and groups.

  • Share your location with your friends, groups, or the world
  • Set your IM status message to your current location
  • Glance at your contact list, and instantly see who’s nearby
  • View a contact’s properties, and see their detailed location
  • Discover new interesting users and groups in your local area

Update:

The magic has now arrived in beta form for Windows Mobile and Windows PC. The latest downloadable versions of Palringo include the location plugin. It’s coming soon for iPhone, Symbian, and our other platforms.

The location feature was not available on my Windows Mobile 5 smartphone (O2 XDA). It did work on my Nokia E51 Symbian S60 3rd Edition phone.
